10 Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is EFT Tapping, and is it evidence-based?

Answer: Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Tapping is an evidence-based intervention that combines acupressure and cognitive techniques to reduce stress and anxiety. A randomized controlled trial by Stapleton et al. (2020) found that teachers who used EFT Tapping experienced a 58% reduction in anxiety and a 43% decrease in cortisol levels. The technique is recognised by the American Psychological Association and has been the subject of over 100 gold standard, randomised controlled trials.

2. How is this different from other wellbeing programs?

Answer: Most wellbeing programs focus on either teacher wellbeing OR student wellbeing. Even Better Classrooms uniquely addresses both simultaneously. Teachers learn practical techniques for their own resilience, and then they immediately implement these same techniques with students in the classroom. This dual approach creates a culture of emotional regulation that benefits the entire school community.

3. Is the program NESA-accredited?

Answer: Yes! Even Better Classrooms is a NESA-recognised professional development program. The 8-hour workshop contributes to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST) and can be counted toward teachers' mandatory professional development requirements.

4. How long is the workshop, and what format is it?

Answer: The interactive workshop is a full day (8 hours) and is delivered online. We can run dedicated workshops for individual schools or combine teachers from multiple schools into one session. Most schools opt for the multi-school format to reduce costs.

5. What do teachers receive after the workshop?

Answer: After the workshop, teachers receive a full year of access to our online portal, which includes a digital resource library (tapping cards, songs, videos, implementation guide), 12 monthly group mentoring sessions, and ongoing email support. This ensures they have the resources and support to embed the practice in their classrooms.

6. How much does it cost?

Answer: Our all-inclusive pricing includes the workshop and a 1-year subscription to all resources and mentoring. Pricing is $895 per teacher for 1-2 teachers, $795 per teacher for 3-5 teachers, and $695 per teacher for 6+ teachers. Schools can also book a dedicated workshop for their entire staff at a discounted rate.

7. Can we book a workshop just for our school?

Answer: Absolutely! We offer dedicated school workshops. For up to 10 teachers, the cost is $6,950 (or $695 per teacher). For 10-20 teachers, it's $12,900 (or $645 per teacher). For larger schools, we provide a custom quote. A dedicated workshop allows you to tailor the content to your school's specific needs.

8. How do teachers implement this in Stage 1 & 2 classrooms?

Answer: The tapping points we teach are simple and age-appropriate for young children. Teachers can use tapping as a calming strategy during transitions, when students are dysregulated, or as a proactive wellbeing practice at the start of the day. The workshop includes practical classroom scenarios and implementation strategies.

9. What if teachers don't believe in tapping or are sceptical?

Answer: Scepticism is normal! The workshop begins by addressing the neuroscience behind the technique and sharing the research. Participants experience tapping first-hand and often feel the benefits immediately. By the end of the day, even sceptics are convinced.

10. How do we measure the impact of the program?

Answer: We provide pre- and post-workshop evaluations to measure changes in teacher stress, anxiety, and confidence. We also offer a post-workshop school report for the Principal, to demonstrate the impact of the workshop on their teachers, and offer any recommendations.-level impact report after 12 months, which includes data on student behaviour, classroom climate, and teacher retention. Schools can also track their own metrics using the templates we provide.
